THE NEW WHOLE USUALS TO RELEASE EVERY NEW WHOLE USUAL WILL
DIE FEBRUARY 9
Sophomore Effort on Me And The Machine Records Unleashes More
Unpredictability
Nashville, TN—Nico Muhly and Sufjan Stevens had a child
named
The New Whole Usuals.
Well, that is not entirely true... but were the compositions of Nico
Muhly and Sufjan Stevens to reproduce, it would sound like The New Whole
Usuals.
On Every New Whole Usual Will Die, their forthcoming release
due out February 9, 2010 on
Me And the Machine,
The New Whole Usuals unleash an unpredictable symphony constructed on
traditional instrumentation (horns, brass, strings, vocal choir) and a
combination of never before conceived, hand-made percussion instruments.
Andrew Dolfie, the mischievous maestro behind The New Whole Usuals, ties
these unlikely elements together with acrobatic yet cohesive piano lines
and sparse, poignant vocals. The result is an anthem of human struggle
and triumph.
Based in Nashville, The New Whole Usuals have been described as an
"infectious Ween meets Mr. Bungle who truly strikes gold!" They were
also mentioned in All The Rage Magazine's "Best of Last Year's
Noise."

"This group of musicians, led by
Andrew Dolfie, continues to be an experimental ensemble bent on world
domination, trying new things through sound." - Daily News Journal
(Murfreesboro, TN)
"A mix of instruments and vocals so well paired, it would be hard to
match." -
