New Orleans based singer and songwriter Ruby Rendrag is not your typical girl-with-guitar. Ruby displays a darker, alternative vibe on her new album, Wartime Favorites than most of today’s female pop artists -- imagine Fiona Apple with a guitar. Ruby is heading out on a nationwide tour for the next several months in support of the new album.

Anya Singleton: The Other Side (August 12, 2008) Do you remember the days when you heard a great song on the radio and ran to your local music store to find the album by that artist? Jason Vigil: Sometimes Always (September 9, 2008) Denver based artist is more rock than your typical singer/songwriter. In fact, Jason is a rocker. The Greencards: Nashville contemporary acoustic trio is planning to record their next album some time this fall. The Greencards were also selected to perform on the “Journey Through Song” Cruise in January, along with the likes of Lyle Lovett, John Hiatt and Patty Griffin.

Josh Preston: This Nashville based singer/songwriter has released his third album on a label he co-owns, Me and the Machine Records. Reviews dripping with praise are pouring in for Exit Sounds (May 13) and Josh is currently touring like crazy.

Tim Mahoney: Minneapolis based singer/songwriter who recently won the pop arm of the Durango Song Contest, has just won first prize in the We Are Listening song contest as well with “Theme Song” from his Stay/Leave album. www.myspace.com/timmahoneymusic

Ludo: Just coming off a tour with Spill Canvas, Ludo will embark on the Warped Tour for most of the rest of the summer. www.myspace.com/ludorock

Badfish & Scotty Don’t: Badfish, a tribute to Sublime, continues to be one of the top-grossing acts in the nation, and Scotty Don’t is their alter-ego original project. Badfish is hosting their annual Garden Grove Festival at the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park August 2.
